Volkswagon IQ Drive

I was brought in to help bring to life VW’s IQ Drive system through a series of animations and demonstrations. IQ Drive is the umbrella terms used for the suite of safety features that VW’s vehicles are equipped with. I was familiar with this world, because I oversaw the same grouping for Ford.

As before, we relied on Animation to demo these technologies and how they function. This is mainly due to safety, as some of these features only work at high rate of speed and in dangerous situations. Two things we could not safely do with live action.

My task was not only vendor discovery, selection and oversight over 12 unique videos, but also helping to oversee the legal scheduling and rigorous review protocols that would go into this, as VW was very conscious (as was Ford) of putting out something that could be used against them in a court of law.

Working with Scholar - we created this entire world where our VW could safely interact with other cars … dangerously… to then allow our safety features to kick in.

Scholar oversaw each little detail. Completely made in CG - there were NOT models or miniatures used - which is quite amazing.
